I began exploring pagan beliefs and witchcraft around 12 years old and eventually landed on the hedgewitch label these days because its the easiest way to communicate the way I practice. I am a very nature and animal oriented witch, living on the edge of my community but supporting it with my skills and knowledge when I can. Living in the liminal space that is my bipolar brain leaves me feeling like i live my life with one foot in two worlds at all times, usual the ancient natural world around us versus the modern demands of the world we built for ourselves. Until recent years, most of my adult practices have been focused around parenting and raising my children. I have enjoyed exploring my own practices now that they are older and less dependent on me.

In my early 20's my manic depressive diagnosis from my teens was formally diagnosed as Bipolar2 and i received cognitive behaivoral therapy via a program my state shut down soon after my experience with it. In my early 20's my manic depressive diagnosis from my teens was formally diagnosed as Bipolar2 and i received cognitive behaivoral therapy via a program my state shut down soon after my experience with it. The program for uninsured Texans under the poverty line was called Northstar and prepared me with the tools to survive without stable access to prescriptions. I also got job training as a dog groomer during that period of time to give me the skills to earn an income even in a setting i could manage. I am now a private dog groomer for special needs dogs who, like me, just don't handle the regular shop experience.

When I was a child in the mid-90's, my mother came out as a lesbian and my entire community rejected us. When I was a child in the mid-90's, my mother came out as a lesbian and my entire community rejected us. Hot off the AIDS and Satanic panic off the 80's, we were everything our bible belt neighbors feared. Again and again, I was rejected for being different, first the daughter os a lesbian, then as a witch, and then again with a Bipolar diagnosis. My differences made me scary and something to protect yourself from my bad influences. The message was conform or you will never be loved. I called BS. Eventually, I learned how to love myself, built a stable life with my husband for our boys, and eventually found communities that welcomed me as I am. I help build those communities for others now through my work as a Coordinator for the DFW Pagan Unity Fest, monthly online group event organizer and mod for the Witch Bitch Amateur Hour Coven, various other event volunteering, and now content creating and teaching.
